半導體封測產業於2005年展現亮麗成績後，2006年仍持續成長。而封測業務的外包及移轉至低成本製造區的情形也在持續發展，百分之九十的廠商計畫在亞太地區設廠，其中超過半數將設在中國。未來幾年所計劃興建的十四間製造廠中，有十三間將設於亞太地區，而十三間當中有十間將設於中國。
